The Area of Murcia

Hacienda Del Alamo Golf Resort is situated in the region of Murcia best known for its all year round warm climate with 2,800 sun-hours per year with very little rainfall.  Murcia provides one of the healthiest climates in Europe with an average temperature of 21ºC, with hot summers reaching a maximum temperatures of 40ºC and mild winters temperature of  18ºC in the winter months. The resort is close by to the charming Spanish town of Fuente Alamo (Popular Spring) with every amenity available.  The resort is protected by the near-by mountains and surrounded by beautiful open countryside, the historic cities of Cartagena 20 minutes drive and Murcia 30 minutes both offering incredible architecture, museums, shops selling everything from Spanish furniture to the latest fashions including designer suits and multiple shoe stores, restaurants, bars, cafes and a Port in Cartagena. Close by to the resort are many of the blue flag beaches around the unique Mar Menor, Europe’s large lagoon with a surface area of 135 km2 and a maximum depth of 7 meters. The Mar Menor is perfect for families and offers an abundance of water sports such as sailing, water skiing, scuba diving and fishing. 

The beautiful National Park of Sierra Espuna is only a 20 minute drive away & for those keen skiers, Sierra Nevada is two and half hours from the resort.

The new motorway links currently under construction and due to open very shortly, will open up the region of Murcia allowing an even more accessible place to reach. The nearby airports of Alicante and San Javier are only 75 and 30 minutes away from the Hacienda del Alamo Golf Resort where the “budget” airlines such as Easy jet, Ryan air and Jet2.com fly into. The new international airport at Corvera currently under construction is due to open in 2009 will be even closer to the resort, approximately a 15 minute drive away.
